A very big bake sale for DCAF!

Earlier this year, DCAF reached out to Capitol Jill Baking with an idea: what if we threw a very big bake sale to benefit abortion access? Almost six months later, that little idea became one of DCAF’s biggest events yet: 38 bakers, 400 attendees, two sessions, and one amazing day at Maketto. If you joined us on Sunday, we hope you left with a full heart and fuller stomach!

Between ticket sales, the bake sale, raffle, auction, and merch sales, you raised $20,192.75! To put that in perspective, our original goal was $6,000. Thank you for crushing every goal we set for this community!

We have to give our biggest thank you to Capitol Jill, who curated every part of this event, found every baker, secured every auction & raffle item, and donated hours of her time and talent to make this happen.

We also have to thank our friends at Maketto, who not only donated their space to us for the day, but attended the event, served you coffee & cocktails, and got flash tattoos!

Finally, there are too many people to list here, but thank you to every baker, vendor, volunteer and raffle & auction donor for giving so much to this event!

As we said on Sunday, this is just the first of many collaborations for Capitol Jill and DCAF. We’re going to take a little break but don’t you worry: more baked goods are in your future.
