Buy your tickets here!

GIRLGENIUS is a showcase of queer femme singer-songwriters from the Washington DC area. Three artists will take the stage at Pie Shop to share their unique songwriting style and sound. In partnership with the DC Abortion Fund, proceeds from the show will be donated towards the expansion of abortion access around the DMV and beyond.

Veronique

Commanding a near four-octave range and a sentimental nature, Veronique is a DC-based singer-songwriter with roots in South Florida. Deeply influenced by jazz and folk vocalist Nina Simone and piano-pop singer Sara Bareilles, Veronique weaves strong vocals with witty, sometimes uncouth, confessional lyrics that will make you laugh right before bringing you to tears. She daylights as a lawyer in the gender justice movement, hoping for a world where more people can live with the dignity and delight they’re entitled to.

Devonly

Devonly makes music to dream and scream to. A DC-based singer-songwriter and Gemini, she pens confessional lyrics like conversations between herselves: how to be queer, feel nostalgia, face shame, and have faith. Influenced by artists like Snail Mail, Mitski, and Alvvays, Devonly blends moody melodies with made-up chords to find a relatable sound that is all her own.

ok ivy

ok ivy is an indie singer-songwriter in Washington, D.C. by way of Oklahoma. She writes sad songs on a ukulele and hopes you’ll like them. With a wry humor, an energetic band, blisteringly vulnerable lyrics, and a long way to go in therapy, ok ivy’s music is an exercise in turning self-conscious private thoughts into public conversations on grief, loss, fear, and love.
