Join the Bodily Autonomy Working Group (BAWG) and the Political Education Working Group on Thursday, November 20th at 7pm for our Abortion Access Teach-In, the capstone to our Abortion Resources document project. This event will be hybrid - we will be meeting at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, Room 401-F, as well as providing a zoom option. Please note that the in-person presentation is MASK MANDATORY. KN-95 masks will be provided for free.

We will be covering the following topics in order, with 15 minutes allotted for questions at the end.

  1. ABORTION ACCESS

  2. NEED AN ABORTION?

  3. DMV AREA CLINICS

  4. ABORTION PILLS

  5. ABORTION FUNDS IN THE DMV

  6. EMOTIONAL SUPPORT RESOURCES

  7. PRACTICAL SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS

  8. LEGAL RESOURCES

  9. EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES

  10. DIGITAL SECURITY

  11. ABORTION FUNDS OUTSIDE OF DC

Join us at our Happy Hour afterwards at Rocket Bar from 8-9:30pm! We will be gathering to discuss the presentation, let folks know how to get involved, and to socialize and have fun!

Accessibility information: The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library is fully wheelchair accessible, with automatic doors and elevators. Please note that the door to our rented room is not automatic, but we will have someone stationed at the door to open it for folks. Please note that Rocket Bar is NOT wheelchair accessible - there are very steep stairs at the entrance. If you have a suggestion for a wheelchair-accessible bar close by, please let us know!

Additionally, this session is MASK MANDATORY. We know that sickness is going around (please get your COVID Booster + Flu shot and TEST for COVID before attending!) so we want to be extra sure that attendees of this session can attend safely. However, the happy hour afterwards is mask optional, as we have not rented a private space at Rocket Bar, we cannot enforce a mask mandate. If you have any accessibility questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out at bawg@mdcdsa.org.
