We are so back!
Fundraising celebrations! January events! DCAF staff recs! All that & more in this email!
Hello to our wonderful DCAF community!
Here’s the truth: 2024 was a hard year to be an abortion fund, an abortion seeker, an abortion advocate– and really, if we’re being the most truthful: 2024 was a hard year to be human.
And that’s why celebrating our wins matters.
In December 2024, at the tail-end of a doozy year, somehow, this community managed to end the year on a high-note. You all:
Sold out the We Lived Through This DCAF 2024 Holiday Party and raised $84,000 for abortion access in D.C. and beyond.
CRUSHED our EOY 100K fundraising match goal (cheers to Eli Dickinson & Kat Zambon!!) in under two weeks.
Between the holiday party and end of year matching, you closed out 2024 by raising a whopping $711,000 in December alone. (Icon behavior!)
We’ve said it before and we will keep saying it: we could not do this without you.
As for 2025? We are SO back.
Like, seriously– have you seen our events calendar? She is booked & busy!

What did we tell you? D.C. is already showing up for abortion access and for each other. Community is how we get through this.
2025 mantra: we can have good days in a hard world.
We also know that these next few days, especially if you live in D.C. may bring about a range of feelings. We are encouraging you to take care of yourself and prioritize joy. It’s still important to have good days in a hard world.
The DCAF staff put together these recommendations for books, movies, recipes and local spots so you can tap into that joy & good day energy this month.
Check that out here.
In eternal love & rage,
Alisha & DCAF
